A typical fall share!  Beets, onions, squashes and more!

Looking for a sneak peak into this summers' vibrant veggies? Here are some sample shares from last summer, to give you an idea of what to expect..and that's not even everything! For an even better idea of what goes on down on the farm every day, follow us on instagram!

Your CSA typically begins in June with leafy greens like kale, mesclun, arugula and cabbages.  As the season progresses, you can expect both greater numbers and varieties of crops in your weekly pickup.  By August you can expect the full suite of summer crops, vegetables like melons and tomatoes.  Come late September and October, your basket will include more late summer and fall crops such as squashes, sweet potatoes and root crops.  An example of crops you might expect in any given month are below.

June/July - Spinach, kale, broccoli, head lettuce, scallions, kohlrabi, collards, beets, fennel, garlic scapes, zuchinni

August - Corn, carrots, beans, hakurei turnips, pickling cukes, kale, bell peppers, tomatillos, mesclun or arugula, dill, eggplant, melons

September - Summer squash, watermelon radish, bok choi, rapini, tomatoes, napa cabbage, spinach, parsley, corn, frying peppers

October - Sweet potatoes, celeriac, daikon radish, collards, carrots, sweet and hot peppers, mesclun, bunched radish, cilantro

These are just a few examples of crops and varietals we grow at Pitchfork Farm, but there are so many more!  Each week is an adventure, a journey of stunningly beautiful and delicious vegetables.  We will also pepper in surprises throughout the season, additions like berries and honey from some of our farmer friends.
